History of Gambling in Louisiana
In the 1990's the Louisiana State Legislature began authorizing a series of gambling activities and operations in the state of Lousiana:
- Horsetracks were permitted to simulcast out-of-state racing at off track betting facilities
- A state lottery was established
- Video poker facilities were licensed ar racetracks, off track betting facilities, and truck stops.
