In 2010 the U.S. Congress designated
the second Sunday in August to be
United States national "Spirit of 45 Day"
honoring the men and women heros of the
World War II era.

of remembrance and national renewal on the second
Sunday of every August to honor the achievements of
the men and women of the World War II generation
so their example of courage, self-sacrifice, can-do
spirit, unity, and service to others will inspire
future generations of Americans.
