Alaska Botanical Garden
110 acre spruce and birch woodland garden featuring
more then 1,100 species of perennials and 150 native
plant species. Flowering plants and shrubs can usually
be viewed between May and September. Garden areas
include Lile’s Garden, the Lower Perennial Garden,
an herb garden, the Anchorage Heritage Garden,
a rock garden, a shade garden, a kitchen garden exhibit,
and two trails, a Wildflower trail and the
1.1 mile Lowenfels Family Nature Trail. The Alaska Botanical Garden
is located at 4601 Campbell Airstrip Road in
the city of Anchorage.
Georgeson Botanical Garden
Five acre garden used for a variety of research and educational
programs in sub-arctic horticulture. Usually open to the
public between May and September.
Located on the campus of the University of Alaska at Fairbanks,
at 117 West Tanana Drive in the city of Fairbanks.
Glacier Rainforest Gardens
Fifty acre garden offering guided tours by experts
in the rainforest's ecosystem and diverse plant and animal life.
Glacier Gardens. Tours begin with a walking tour
and introduction to the garden followed by a vehicle tour
of the natural landscape around Juneau.
The full name of this botanical garden is the
"Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure" and it is
located at 7600 Glacier Highway in the city of Juneau.
