This "from scratch" fruit drink recipe is made with
fresh lemons, fresh oranges, sugar, and mint leaves.
Orange Lemonade Ingredients
- 2 cups of sugar
- 2-1/2 cups of water
- 3 oranges
- 6 lemons
- 1/3 cup of lightly packed fresh mint leaves
Orange Lemonade Instructions
Heat sugar and water together, stirring until no grains
of sugar are visible. Allow the sugar syrup to cool.
Grate fine (not shred) 2 tablespoons of orange peel. Squeeze
1-1/2 cups of orange juice and 1-1/2 cups of lemon juice.
Mix the juices and the peel with the sugar syrup. Pour
the mixture over the mint leaves, cover, and steep the mixture
one hour. Pour the fruit syrup trough a sieve to remove the
seeds, peel, pulp, and leaves,
To serve, fill glasses half full with water and half with the fruit
syrup, add ice, and garnish with mint leaves and fruit slices.
