Museum in Conuco that is dedicated to the memory of the three sisters
who opposed to the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo,
and were assassinated on November 25, 1960.
In 1999 the sisters were internationally recognized when
the United Nations General Assembly designated November 25th
as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against
Women. On November 25, 2000,
in honor of the 40th anniversary of the sisters' deaths,
their remains were moved to a gravesite on the museum grounds.
