Information about transportation at Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic.
Punta Cana International Airport
The busiest airport in the Dominican Republic is located
about six miles north of the Cap Cana resort development.
The Coral Highway
Autopista del Corale is a four lane, 43 mile highway that first opened in 2012.
It connects the southeast coast municipality of La Romana
with Cap Cana, Punta Cana and other east coast resorts. At La Romana
the Coral Highway connects with Highway 3, which continues
westward to the national capital city of Santo Domingo.
That highway is designed for speeds of nearly 70 mile per hour,
which should make the drive from the Las Americas Airport in
Santo Domingo to Cap Cana and the other resorts of Punta Cana
about two hours long.
